Sunset Shadows – Sandy Point Pond, Kinsale, Virginia

I love the colors found in this pond. I talked to my buddy Chris, who was in one of the kayaks in the photo the other day. He said the green substance in these photos was duckweed (tiny plants that float on the surface), but also algae or pond scum underneath. While generally not attractive from the ground, pond scum is beautiful from the air. You can also see some swans hanging out in the upper right corner.
