Autumn to Snow Transition – Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Tennessee

Awakening to a dusting of snow in the trees, Mel and I ventured out to capture the amazing weather phenomenon. This curve of the road was lower in elevation, so the snow melted on the ground, but started to accumulate in the tree tops. Further up in elevation, the snow covered more of the trees, which diminished the bold colors of autumn.
