Carter Shields Cabin – Cades Cove, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Tennessee
Posted by Vito Paratore on Saturday, 11 November 2017.
In the valley towards the north west border of Great Smoky Mountains lies Cades Cove. Filled with beautiful meadows, great mountain views, and historical buildings, there was plenty to see and explore. While I definitely recommend visiting, I must warn you. Prepare yourself for thousands of other visitors taking it slow. While only an 11 mile loop, all three of our trips through Cades Cove took over 2 hours. If you do go there, be considerate and use the countless pull-offs to take photos and enjoy the views. It was mind-boggling to see lines of dozens of cars backed up for miles because people refused to move over or get out of their cars to take photos.
