There is one part of sunrise photography that you might not have thought about. While these photos look peaceful and the morning certainly was, photographing the sunrise involves a fair amount of sprinting around, at least for me. There is a short period of time where the light is the best. I imagine some photographers scout out the best location and pick there shot and go with it. Not me. I try to get as many angles and compositions as possible. This one required descending a steep hill down to the river’s edge. This beautiful path wound along the water towards the mountains. I found it on an earlier scout trip with Melissa, so I knew it was there, but I couldn’t choose between this view and the view from the top of the hill. With a bit of sprinting, I didn’t have to choose.
